IF CAJAL COULD SEE US NOW

We explore the legacy of Santiago Ramón y Cajal by connecting his pioneering discoveries with current neuroscience.

Don Santiago Ramón y Cajal, in addition to being an excellent scientist, also had a notable artistic facet that helped him capture and share his groundbreaking ideas with the world at a time when technical resources were still rudimentary.

A century later, his drawings remain an indispensable resource for teaching and understanding the brain, perhaps due to their expressive power, the enduring validity of the theories they illustrate, or their beauty.

Oscar Marín: Our connections are not genetically predetermined. There is a certain element of randomness that makes brains very similar, but, in some way, also different.

A mix of senses: Guille López-Bendito and Teresa Guillamón-Vivancos have discovered that the neural circuits of touch and sight are connected during the gestation process.

The Brain Hunter

El cazador de cerebros” (The Brain Hunter) proposes a journey through the neurons of the most prestigious and brilliant brains in the world of research, guided by the writer and science communicator Pere Estupinyà. So they can tell us what they know. Sharing ideas and disseminating their wisdom is the foundation of this program, which seeks to answer questions about how societies, nature, technology, and the human mind work.
