Spanish physicist Pablo Jarillo-Herrero, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has been included in Clarivate Analytics’ list of top candidates to win the Nobel Prize. Jarillo-Herrero is a candidate for the 2018 discovery of graphene’s magic angle, which allows this material to become a superconductor when two of its layers are superimposed with a rotation of 1.1 degrees between them.

Pablo Jarillo-Herrero always explains that if you direct your gaze to places not previously visited by Physics, you are most likely to find interesting things. His research spans from the fundamental physics of Moiré quantum matter to the invention of new nanoelectronic, photovoltaic, and ferroelectric devices with potential applications in nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and emerging energy generation and capture technologies.

Pablo, we’re with you!!!
