Contribution to the Cajal Legacy: If the brain is the conductor of the orchestra that Cajal studied, the heart is the engine that allows the music. Dr Carlos Escobar embodies the figure of the modern “physician-scientist.” From one of Spain’s most important hospitals (La Paz), he combines tireless clinical practice with high-impact global research output. His fight centres on the great silent enemies of the twenty-first century: heart failure, diabetes, and cardiovascular risk.
Lecture Topics:
- Heart and Diabetes: A dangerous duo and how to protect it.
- Cardiovascular Prevention: Strategies for shielding our health against ageing.
- Clinical Research: How hospital data becomes life expectancy.
